A familiar companion. A playful silhouette.
Cat earrings SVG.
A small detail with personality.
Velvet Paws is an original cat earrings SVG for laser-approved thin sheet wood. Each rounded cat face has pointed ears, two closed-eye marks, six whiskers and a triangular nose. These nine engraved details stay on the wood surface beneath an integrated hanging tab. The supplied pair mirrors the silhouette and engraved details. The ZIP includes one SVG, an English preparation and finishing guide, and an annotated cut map. Each blank measures 26 × 38 mm before kerf and finishing; the original SVG page is 64 × 44 mm.
A feline silhouette.
A playful everyday accent.
Velvet Paws brings a familiar feline shape to a pair of wood earring blanks. Its graphic character works as a starting point for a natural wood finish or your own material-appropriate colour. Add suitable findings to make a playful pair for yourself or handmade gifting.
Nine filled engraving shapes per cat: two closed-eye marks, six whiskers and one triangular nose. These are filled surface marks, rather than cut-through slots. Only the outer silhouettes and suspension holes are through-cut contours. The hanging tab is 8 mm wide. Ear points are integrated into the broad solid face; the whiskers are surface engraving rather than fragile cut projections. The nominal minimum material rim around each hanging hole is approximately 2.75 mm before kerf and finishing.
The images illustrate a possible finished appearance. Finished jewelry, wood, finishes, findings, chains, cords and styling props are not included.

Engrave the character.
Finish your own pair.
-
Verify the artwork and hanging hole
Extract the ZIP and import the SVG. Confirm the 64 × 44 mm page, 58 × 38 mm artwork and 26 × 38 mm size of each blank. Check the 2.5 mm hanging hole and approximately 2.75 mm minimum rim in the guide and cut map. Keep the surface-detail group registered to the cutting outlines.
-
Engrave before releasing the shape
Assign all 18 black filled paths to shallow surface engraving, and all 4 red contours to cutting. Engrave first, cut the suspension holes next, and release the outer silhouettes last where the software supports that sequence. Review the complete job preview; colour alone does not select the operation.
-
Inspect, finish and fit the hardware
Make a sample in your approved wood. Check grain, hanging-hole rims and connected features; reject cracked or weakened blanks. Smooth and finish using methods suited to the stock, then measure the finished hole and attachment area. Choose jump rings and earring hooks that clear the actual sheet thickness and attachment geometry. Recheck the finished assembly before use.
This design has not been physically test-cut, finished, assembled or wear-tested. Kerf, stock, grain, engraving depth and finishing affect fit and strength. No universal machine settings, finished weight or wearer-suitability claims are supplied.

What files will I receive?
The ZIP contains velvet-paws-cat-earrings.svg, README.txt and cut-map.png. The SVG contains cutting and filled-engraving artwork. The English guide covers scale, operation mapping, material preparation, finishing and usage terms. Use the SVG for machine operations; the annotated cut map is a dimensioned reference image.
What will I make?
The file supplies one pair of wood earring blanks for laser-approved thin sheet wood. Each blank is 26 × 38 mm before kerf, sanding or finish; hardware adds to the finished dimensions. You supply the approved wood, finish and jump rings and earring hooks. This is a digital download rather than finished jewelry.
Which cat details are engraved?
Nine filled engraving shapes per cat: two closed-eye marks, six whiskers and one triangular nose. These 18 black filled shapes are intended for shallow surface engraving. The 4 red closed paths cut the outer silhouettes and 2.5 mm hanging holes. Cutting the black detail outlines would change the design. Engrave the details before releasing the blanks from the sheet.
How do I choose findings and resize the design?
The 2.5 mm hole is a nominal vector dimension. Measure its finished opening after cutting and finishing, then match the ring wire to that opening. Choose ring inner diameter and opening range to clear the actual sheet thickness and the measured hole-to-edge distance at the attachment point. The nominal minimum hole rim is approximately 2.75 mm before kerf; that minimum alone does not determine ring size. Fit jump rings and earring hooks without forcing the hardware through the wood.
Scale the complete design proportionally, including both operation groups. Keep the supplied mirrored pair aligned. Resizing changes the hole diameter, material rims and all narrow features. Recheck those dimensions, make a fresh sample and choose findings for the finished geometry.
How do I prepare this SVG for Glowforge, xTool or Epilog?
Glowforge: Upload the SVG, check scale and work area, then assign red contours to Cut and black fills to Engrave. Review the operations for your model.
xTool Studio/XCS: Use software supported by your exact model. Check the blank size after import; SVG import DPI can affect scale. Assign red contours to Cut and black filled shapes to Engrave.
Epilog: In Illustrator, retain the centered 0.025 mm red strokes and black fills. Configure cutting and raster engraving through your model’s driver or Dashboard, then review the preview.
Other CO₂/diode systems: If the controller and firmware are supported, import the SVG into LightBurn. Assign red to Line for cutting and black to Fill for engraving. Check Preview; the laser source alone does not establish compatibility.
Which wood and laser settings should I use?
Use laser-approved thin sheet wood. The illustrated 2–3 mm birch or walnut is an example, not a tested or required thickness. Confirm the wood, glues and coatings for your exact machine and wavelength with the supplier and material guidance.
Test engraving and cutting on scrap, then make a sample blank before a batch. Inspect the grain, hanging area and narrow connections after finishing. No universal power, speed, pass count or finish is supplied. Follow the machine’s ventilation and supervision instructions. Materials, findings and finishing affect the completed piece’s weight, strength and suitability for a wearer.
Can I sell the physical earrings I make?
Yes. Personal projects and sales of finished physical earrings you make are permitted. Do not resell, share or redistribute the digital files or modified digital versions. See the README for the full usage terms. Wood, finishes, findings, chains, cords, tools and styling props are not included.
